dc.description.abstractThis thesis is the result of a joint cooperation between the Aluminum Company of Canada and the University of Sherbrooke. The aim was to develop a mathematical model of a process - instrumentation loop that could be used by either party to predict results of any modifications to the system. The following chapters show in some detail the results of this program. It is hoped that the Aluminum Company can put to good use these results.
